Ciao a tutti,
I hope you are well and gearing up to a spectacular end to 2022! It’s around this time with the year drawing to a close, that many of us begin thinking about our 2023 plans. What’s in store for you this year? Will it be the year you finally get back to Italy (or visit for the first time!)? Or are you planning for 2024 and beyond?
If you are hoping to come to bella Italia next year, then the advice is to start getting organised as soon as possible. Travel is expected to be absolutely huge in 2023 here and many hotels/AirBnbs are already booked out for September next year in the more popular cities which is crazy!
If you’re still a bit undecided about your Italian itinerary, then I have an idea (well, actually I have many, but let’s keep it to one thing at a time this week) for you. Do you want to visit a lesser-touristed region? Have the opportunity to escape the crowds? Indulge on fresh seafood/oozing burrata cheese/handmade pasta with bursting ripe tomatoes/fluffy focaccia/and mozzarella-filled pastries? Somewhere you can swim in the dazzling blue waters of the Adriatic Sea but also visit the countryside full of vineyards and olive trees?
Then I think you should visit Puglia in 2023! Whether you decide to visit solo or join a tour, I’ve got information for you below. Just remember- this is a region where you definitely want to have a car and will need to speak some Italian to have the best experience.
Ok, andiamo!

Come to Puglia with me in 2023
Joining a small group, multiday tour is an excellent option if you’re not comfortable driving, don’t speak any Italian, want to meet the locals, enjoy hidden experiences you won’t find in any guidebook or simply want someone else to take care of all the details. We had the most wonderful time on our September tour this year, but I’ll let our guests tell you what they thought themselves in this video!
You’ll discover the fairy-like white trulli houses of the Itria Valley and charming fishing villages where the local pasta dishes are topped with catch of the day fresh seafood. Baroque beauty Lecce and its intriguing laneways and elaborate churches, plus the vibrant capital Bari and its winding maze-like old town. Puglia’s close neighbor Basilicata is home to one of the oldest cities in the world – Matera. We take a short detour here to enjoy one of the world’s most unique experiences – wandering among the sassi dwellings, admiring and even staying in a cave hotel.
This year we are offering just two week-long tours to the region with a maximum of 10 guests each. Explore in early summer or late summer with us in 2023!
